About
Who Inspired you to DJ
I caught 2 important historical tours in 1986 and 1987. The Together Forever tour and the Def Jam tour were two hot concerts that represent major events during the beginning of the Golden Years of Hip Hop. Those concerts toured RUN DMC, LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, EPMD, Whodini, The Fresh Prince & Jazzy Jeff, Doug E. Fresh and Eric B. & Rakim. All of these groups had the hottest DJ's of that time. My homie Terry Seward had the turntables and equipment and we would practice in his basement.
My favorite's and who I thought killed the show was Jazzy Jeff, Grand Master Dee and DJ Scratch. Along with Terry, these guys got me started and I would imitate scratches by listening to their records over and over. Back in those days we didn't have controllers or YouTube to learn, it was all done by ear and turntables.
